LAB+ opens second international call for start-ups and scientific projects

LAB+ Company Builder has launched a new international call for scientists with an original, disruptive, and innovative project with significant commercial potential.

This is the second call since the creation of LAB+, which already boasts a portfolio of four companies: B4-RNA, Guska, LoCBio and Scaffold Biotech.

Selected start-ups in this call will receive seed funding (up to $750,000); inclusion in a top-tier scientific ecosystem; access to international expertise in business, strategy, innovation, business development, administrative operations, and intellectual property management; laboratory facilities (30 m²); and open access to key areas of IP Montevideo for a limited number of projects where infrastructure is crucial for development.

Proposals will be evaluated based on the level of innovation in their technology and scientific foundations, the feasibility of their objectives, the definition of the problem addressed and market potential, the comprehensive understanding of the current state of intellectual property, the motivation and scientific track record of the applicants, and their commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration for creating and developing a science-based start-up.

This call aligns with LAB+’s goals of fostering high-quality science that generates world-class companies, solutions to societal problems, and a knowledge-based economy.
