New Startups Presented to the Investment Committee

Five of the 52 startups that applied to LAB+’s second international call pitched their projects to the Investment Committee in early May. This committee provides an opportunity for investors and LAB+ staff to learn more about the projects and ultimately decide which ones to invest in.

The call for new startups and scientific projects was launched in August 2024, receiving 52 applications from eight countries. In the early stages of the selection process, the LAB+ team shortlisted 18 projects, which then progressed through several evaluation rounds until five finalists were selected to present to the Investment Committee.

These five projects cover a range of topics related to biomedicine and animal health, and originate from Uruguay, Argentina, and France. Following their presentations, the startups are now in the final stages of due diligence before receiving investment and support from LAB+.
