Work is being finalized on a pilot GMP plant where Scaffold Biotech will produce batches of its vaccine against bovine ticks.
The plant is located next to the startup’s laboratory within the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo. Its inauguration is planned for October, and work is underway to obtain the necessary authorization.
The vaccines produced there will be used in a pilot trial set to begin at the end of November. The plan, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), will supply the vaccine to cattle from selected farms across several regions of the country.
The trial will run until the end of April, and its results will contribute to validating the vaccine’s effectiveness.
