Oct 13, 2025

Guska and Cryosmetics, with the support of Uruguay XXI, took part in BioSpain, a leading biotechnology event in Spain that brings together the main players in the sector.

Guska, one of the startups supported by LAB+, develops oncolytic viruses designed to attack cancer cells without harming healthy ones. Meanwhile, Cryosmetics focuses on the skin microbiome to create advanced skincare formulations.

Representing Cryosmetics was Sofía Otegui, Chief International Officer of the company. Attending on behalf of Guska were Nicolás Bordería (CEO), Antonio Bordería (Senior Business Advisor), and Juan Gandioli (researcher).

“During BioSpain, we met with investors specializing in therapeutic developments to better understand what they look for in startups like Guska. We also held meetings with biotech innovation hubs to explore how they can help strengthen companies like ours. In addition, we spoke with consultants specialized in oncolytic virotherapy to continue refining our development strategy,” explained Tambucho.

“In short, it was a great opportunity to build connections, identify new trends, and further position Guska on the international stage,” he emphasized.
