LAB+ Company Builder and the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo took part in the Biotech Forum 2025, organized by Universidad ORT Uruguay at the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU).
The forum, now in its second edition, brings together key figures in the field of biotechnology, as well as students and others interested in the area.
Diego Melazzi, Executive Director of FICUS Advisory, joined the panel “Investments in Biotech” to speak about LAB+’s journey and vision.
Claudia Vanesa Piattoni, Innovation Manager at both the institute and LAB+, presented on the Institut Pasteur’s work and its connection to biotechnology.
Meanwhile, Matías Machado, co-founder of Scaffold Biotech, discussed the anti-tick vaccine being developed by the startup.
Emiliano Trías, CSO of Xeptiva Therapeutics, shared the journey of the startup, which was born from research conducted at the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo and Udelar.
Finally, María Pía Garat, CEO of EOLO PHARMA, gave a talk about the company’s development of a drug targeting obesity and type 2 diabetes.
In addition, Locbio took part in the event with a welcome information booth.
