Dedicated to scientific research in biomedicine, Institut Pasteur de Montevideo is composed by high-tech scientific platforms in areas such as genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, molecular and cellular biology; and laboratories that are open to leading scientists’ research projects. It has also become an international education center with courses on the latest biological knowledge and state-of-the-art technologies and promotes start-ups for the development of biotechnological applications.
Institut Pasteur International Network
The Institut Pasteur de Montevideo is one of the 33 independent centres located in five continents that compose the Institut Pasteur International Network (IPIN), united by the same values as the original Institut Pasteur Paris.
United by common missions and values, IPIN members work for the benefit of the population and according to the specificities of each country. Inspired and moved by Pasteurian ethics and values —which include excellence, scientific rigor and universal values—, IPIN works to improve human health, with the aim of promoting sustainable development based on strengthening local capacities in regards to human rights and the environment.
