Editorial – First LAB+ Newsletter

As Director of LAB+ and the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo, I’m pleased to introduce the very first edition of the LAB+ newsletter — a space created to share our progress, as well as updates from the startups we support and the researchers working within them.

We believe that science should not only generate knowledge — the foundation of our scientific work — but also serve as a driver of transformation and sustainable development for our countries. With that goal in mind, we created LAB+, the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo’s company builder, designed to facilitate and accelerate the creation of science-based startups. We do this by providing infrastructure, funding, and specialized guidance.

This newsletter aims to serve as a bridge between scientific research and you — stakeholders in innovation, science, technology, and decision-making — to keep you informed about our work and developments.

Every three months, we’ll share this newsletter, featuring interviews, success stories, key updates, and information about events and topics relevant to LAB+.

We invite you to join us on this journey and share this bulletin with anyone who might be interested. You can also follow LAB+ on LinkedIn and X, where we’ll continue to share updates in real time.

Thank you for your attention — we hope you enjoy this first edition.
